This is an example Cookie Policy for a demo product and is not legal advice. Replace this with a policy reviewed by a qualified legal professional before deploying to production.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the site's owners.

In addition to traditional cookies, we also use localStorage and sessionStorage to store certain preferences directly in your browser without sending data to our servers.

2. How We Use Cookies

The Chat Agent uses cookies and local storage for the following purposes:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Without them, core features such as authentication and session management would not work. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using the Service.

  • Session token — keeps you logged in as you navigate the app.
  • CSRF token — protects forms and API requests from cross-site request forgery attacks.

Preference Cookies

These store your interface preferences so they persist across visits.

  • Theme preference — your choice of light or dark mode is stored in localStorage under the key theme. This value never leaves your device.
  • Sidebar state — whether the sidebar is expanded or collapsed.

Analytics Cookies (Optional)

If you have opted in to analytics, we use privacy-respecting, cookie-based analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is included in these reports.

  • Analytics cookies are only set with your explicit consent.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie preferences panel.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

The table below summarises all cookies and storage items set by the platform:

4. Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. The following links explain how to manage cookies in the most common browsers:

Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform. Clearing localStorage will reset your theme and sidebar preferences.

5. Third-Party Cookies

We do not embed third-party advertising cookies. We use a small number of privacy- respecting service providers to operate and analyze the platform; where these set cookies, they are governed by their respective privacy policies.

No conversation content is shared with any third-party analytics provider.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via a notice within the platform or by email.

7. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies or wish to exercise your privacy rights, please contact us.
